TWIN CITIES’ OLDEST FURNACE CONTEST

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

1. SPONSOR

The Twin Cities’ Oldest Furnace Contest (“Contest”) is sponsored by:

Genz-Ryan Heating and Plumbing Company Inc.

(“Sponsor”)

2. ELIGIBILITY

The Contest is open to:

Legal residents of Minnesota
At least eighteen (18) years of age at time of entry
Owners of an owner-occupied residential property
Property located within the Twin Cities metro service area (within a 60-mile radius of Burnsville, MN)

Eligible property types include:

Single-family homes
Owner-occupied manufactured or mobile homes

Additional requirements:

Home must contain a forced-air furnace (boilers, electric-only heat systems, and radiant systems are not eligible).
Furnace must be operational at the time of inspection.

Employees, officers, directors, and immediate family/household members of Sponsor and affiliated entities are not eligible.

Void where prohibited.

3. PROMOTION PERIOD

The Contest begins at: 12:00 AM Central Time on March 1, 2026 and ends at: 11:59 PM Central Time on April 30, 2026

(“Promotion Period”).

Sponsor’s clock is the official timekeeping device.

4. AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES

Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest.

Winning is contingent upon compliance with all requirements herein.

5. HOW TO ENTER

No purchase necessary.

Primary Entry Method:

Schedule and complete a FREE furnace tune-up with Sponsor during the Promotion Period.

Alternative Entry (No Purchase Necessary):

Call 952-767-1000 during the Promotion Period and request entry into the Contest.

Limit one (1) entry per household.

To qualify for age verification, furnace must be physically inspected by a Genz-Ryan technician during the Promotion Period.

All entries become property of Sponsor.

6. CONTEST MECHANICS

This is an age-verification contest, not a random drawing.

The eligible entrant with the earliest verified furnace manufacture date among all qualified entries during the Promotion Period will be declared the winner.

Age will be verified using:

Manufacturer serial number
Manufacturer documentation
Industry-standard serial number decoding methods
Physical inspection

If two or more furnaces share the same manufacture date:

The earliest documented manufacture month will prevail.
If identical, Sponsor may conduct a random drawing between tied entrants.

Furnace must be fully operational at the time of inspection to qualify.

7. PRIZE

One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded:

One (1) standard efficiency forced-air furnace
Standard professional installation by Sponsor
Required permits included

Approximate Retail Value (ARV): Up to $6,000
Actual value depends on equipment size and market conditions at time of fulfillment.

Important Conditions:

Prize includes standard installation only.
Any code-required upgrades, duct modifications, electrical upgrades, venting adjustments, structural modifications, or other non-standard installation requirements are the responsibility of the winner.
Winner is responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
Winner may be required to submit IRS Form W-9.
Prize is non-transferable, non-assignable, and not redeemable for cash.
Sponsor reserves the right to substitute equipment of equal or greater value if necessary.

8. SECONDARY BENEFITS (ALL QUALIFIED ENTRANTS)

All qualified entrants who complete a furnace tune-up during the Promotion Period will receive:

One (1) free furnace tune-up
One (1) year free maintenance plan (terms apply)
One (1) home health and safety inspection
An exclusive system replacement discount valid for 30–60 days following inspection
Financing options including:
- 18-month no interest, no payments (subject to underwriting approval)
- OR 36-month no interest with monthly payments (subject to underwriting approval)

Maintenance plan enrollment subject to standard company terms and eligibility requirements.

9. WINNER NOTIFICATION

Potential winner will be notified on or about May 5, 2026 via phone and/or email.

If potential winner cannot be contacted within seven (7) days of first notification attempt, Sponsor reserves the right to award the Prize to the next eligible entrant with the next oldest verified furnace.

10. GENERAL CONDITIONS

Sponsor reserves the right to:

Disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process
Disqualify fraudulent entries
Modify, suspend, or cancel the Contest if integrity is compromised

Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, misdirected, or inaccurate entries.

Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute waiver.

11. RELEASE AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor and its affiliates from any claims arising from participation or use of the Prize.

Liability shall be limited to the cost of participation.

Entrants waive rights to punitive, consequential, or indirect damages.

12. DISPUTES

All disputes shall be resolved individually and exclusively in the State of Minnesota.

Governing law: State of Minnesota.

No class actions permitted.

13. PUBLICITY RELEASE

Winner agrees to allow Sponsor to use name, likeness, city of residence, furnace images, and installation images for promotional purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law.

14. PRIVACY

Information collected will be used in accordance with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy.

3. PROMOTION PERIOD

The Contest begins at:

Prize includes standard installation only.
Any code-required upgrades, venting modifications, gas line modifications, electrical upgrades, water line modifications, structural modifications, expansion tank requirements, or other non-standard installation costs are the responsibility of the winner.
Tankless upgrades are not included.
Winner is responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
Winner may be required to submit IRS Form W-9.
Prize is non-transferable, non-assignable, and not redeemable for cash.
Sponsor reserves the right to substitute equipment of equal or greater value if necessary.

All qualified entrants who complete a qualifying appointment during the Promotion Period will receive:

A water heater inspection (water heater flush and fill)
One (1) year free maintenance plan (terms apply)
One (1) home health and safety inspection
Financing options including:
- 18-month no interest, no payments (subject to underwriting approval)
- OR 36-month no interest with monthly payments (subject to underwriting approval)

Financing subject to credit approval and standard underwriting terms.

9. WINNER NOTIFICATION

Potential winner will be notified on or about May 5, 2026 via phone and/or email.

If the potential winner cannot be contacted within seven (7) days of first notification attempt, Sponsor reserves the right to award the Prize to the next eligible entrant with the next oldest verified water heater.
