Founded in 1950

1950

Genz-Ryan was founded by Jack Ryan, Louis Genz, Rose Ryab, & Gretta Genz in Rosemount, MN on January 1st, 1950.

The 2nd floor of the original office building was an apartment where Jack and Marge raised their last two kids (Mike & Tom).

1965

Jack Ryan earns his master plumbing license with the state of MN.

1968

Louis and Gretta Genz retire, and sell their share of the business to Jack and Marge Ryan.

JackRyan appointed to the Water Well Contractors Advisory Council by Governor Wendell Anderson.

This was the first year of the council. One of the main purposes for the council was the establishment of licensing for water well drilling in MN.

1973

Jack Ryan earns his water well drilling license with the state of MN.

1980

Water well drilling operation close closed and sold

1997

Jack and Marge retire. The business is sold to Mike, Bob, Dan, & Jon Ryan.

2000

Genz Ryan celebrates 50 years!!!!

2005

Genz Ryan moves headquarters to Burnsville, MN.

2017

April 2017
Jon Ryan becomes sole owner and president of Genz-Ryan.

May 2017
Electrical division is founded.

Genz – Ryan receives Torch Award for Business Ethics from Better Business Bureau of MN.

2020

Genz Ryan celebrates 70 years!!!!

2023

The first class of Jack Ryan Academy students graduates.
